Horses, carriages, ships, and caravans are being brought into Ferelden in astounding numbers. Enterprising merchants saw the void of modes of travel and have come to capitalize. Below you will find new ways to travel in Thedas, plus rules for owning and riding horses.

HorsesEdit

  • You still must make enough money to afford the purchase and care of a horse.
  • Stables are more common in large urban areas like Denerim and Amaranthine, but some inns along the main roads in Ferelden have started building small ones to accomodate travelers.
  • For Native Fereldens, current characters and future characters that are not nobles will need to have a short roleplay thread where they purchase and go through riding training.
  • Non-native Fereldens and Nobles may have this training in their history.
  • Occupations such as ferriers, hostlers, and breeders for horses are viable character concepts. Please PM a moderator before making one to get approval if you are going to be a native Ferelden.

Traveling in ThedasEdit

Below are caravan and carriage routes. Caravans move at a slower pace than carriages but will still be faster than walking. These routes only occur along the main road. Walking will be required to get to out of the way bannorns and villages. Note these times are estimated based on walking travel times and shortened for horse and wagon travel. These are the most common stops, but the list is not exhaustive. These modes of transportation will be more affordable than purchasing a horse.
